B"H
Hey everyone,
My birthday falls on 26 Tishrei which is this Tuesday night and Wednesday.
The Rebbe encouraged us to celebrate our birthday, which I'll be doing with a small birthday farbrengen at my home on Tuesday evening at 8pm. We'll study a little Torah, make a toast and more. But the Rebbe said we should make good resolutions, not only the birthday boy but his friends and family should as well. Of course any good resolutions are great, but here are a few that if you're willing to take one or more on it would mean so much to me:
Sign up for our upcoming JLI, the Kabbalah, the Hidden Architecture of You. It starts in 3 weeks and offers you a chance to learn about your personal soul disposition, how everything we do and everything we choose down to the music we enjoy or the spouse we marry is connected to our inner soul makeup. It is a course that will mean very much personally to you, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Here's the link to sign up: click here
I'm working really hard on bringing a most fantastic Chanukah celebration to our community with Gad Elbaz, an Israeli superstar singer that will perform a live concert Uptown at the Carolina Theater on Tryon Street. The experience will be a huge kiddush Hashem for the community and our goal is to fill the theater to capacity, over 900 seats. In order to make it affordable for everyone to attend we're soliciting companies and individuals to sponsor so that the majority of tickets(600) will only be $25 each. Please consider being a sponsor of the concert to help this be our most successful Chanukah event ever! Note that the sponsorship can be paid in a few payments if necessary. Study a little Torah every day at chabad.org or from any good sources out there.
Give a little extra tzedaka through Chabad of Charlotte or any good cause.
Guys, let's put on tefillin every weekday or as often as possible.
Ladies, let's light shabbat candles each week 18 minutes before sundown.
Put mezuzos on each of the doorways in your home besides the bathroom doors.
Take on a new mitzvah of your choice or doing one in a more beautiful way!
Thanks so much for considering, hope to see you at my birthday celebration.
On my birthday I'll have a special power to bless you, so these resolutions will provide the vessel for the blessings to be fulfilled and bring Moshiach closer.
Blessings for everything you need, hope for and wish for!
Best regards,
Hoping for the best year ever!
Rabbi Shlomo Cohen
